It's November 2, 1891, that Mr. de Maupassant in Cannes decides to rent this house:
"I rented a lovely cottage in Cannes sheltered from all winds, at noon .... A flight of stairs to reach the first floor. In the second, right under the attic, I had a bright room where I set my books. from the window had great views. I was looking half Cannes with the port where my dear boat is rocking. "
